PATROL

The Posse is dedicated to enhancing senior safety and quality of life for the residents in Sun City. To accomplish this, we offer a wide range of services and events to support the needs of those in our community as we continue to explore other avenues that can benefit the well-being of our neighbors. The services currently performed by the Posse are listed below. As the Posse determines new ways to add to safety and security of our residents this list will be updated.

Trained Posse members patrol Sun City neighborhoods, businesses, and houses of worship in an effort to deter crime and offer assistance to residents.  Up to four (4) cars are patrolling at one time.

Patrol Functions:

  1. Travel the streets of Sun City to detect and deter crime.  
  2. Conduct Vacation Watch house checks when residents are out of town.
  3. Conduct Wellness Checks when requested by concerned family, friends or other organizations.
  4. Assist the Fire Department during emergency calls to watch equipment, monitor crowds, and assist in traffic control.
  5. Perform special night patrols in conjunction with the MCSO concentrating on burglary, theft and drug dealing.
  6. Conduct drive-by patrols at recreational areas and shopping centers to assist citizens as needed and deter crime.
  7. Perform drive-by patrols on request for citizens who may feel unsafe in their homes.
  8. Detect and report garage doors that may have been accidentally left open.
