Our members must be at least 50 years old and live in Sun City at least 6 months a year

Provide copies (or originals and we will make copies) of:

All candidates should fill out a Resident Emergency Information card (Yellow Card) and return it with their application.

General Steps of the application process

• Interview with a member of the Recruiting Staff and tour of HQ.

• The Recruiting Office receives a completed application, including personal identification documents and permission to do a Background Check (which includes motor vehicle and criminal checks).

• Once an application is accepted and the Background Check has been submitted, the candidate will be scheduled for an appearance before the Candidate Review Board.

Candidate Review Board (The interviews typically last 30 minutes)

1. Three to five members of the Posse will be present, representing patrol and support services.

2. You will be asked a standard set of questions.

3. You will have the opportunity to ask the board questions.

4. You will be contacted when a decision has been made.

5. You must be recommended unanimously.

The successful candidate’s name will be forwarded to the Posse Training Coordinator, who will contact you with the details of the next training session.

Basically, all Posse members are divided into two groups 1) Patrol Personnel and 2) Support Personnel. The following questions should be answered either YES or NO. I understand that:

1. I will abstain from the use of alcohol or marijuana for eight (8) hours prior to performing Posse duties.

2. I am expected to volunteer a minimum of one shift (either Patrol or Support) per week.

3. I am expected to attend two group meetings per month (first and third Tuesdays)

4. There is a probationary period of six (6) months of active service that begins after all training modules and training patrols are completed during which either the Posse or individual can terminate services for any reason.

5. All equipment issued or furnished, including my uniform and I.D. card, is the property of the Posse and must be returned when my service is terminated.

6. I will be subject to, and governed by, the Posse by-laws, rules and regulations.

7. I understand that the Sun City Posse has a non-discrimination policy that pertains to all members.
